After I received my A.A.S. in Human Resources from my local technical college, I enrolled in Herzing's Degree Up program. This program allowed me to complete my coursework online and had the best credit transfer option available.
I chose my degree path in Business Management because I have many years of management experience and needed the proper education to accompany it. Earning my bachelor’s degree will help me acquire a higher level of employment.
Some challenges I faced while earning my degree were working full-time, taking care of my disabled daughter (she was hospitalized for 25 days), studying and trying to find time for myself. I worked hard, set goals, kept a positive "failure is not an option" attitude and became a master of time management. If I had any time to myself, it was spent with my nose in a book. I will walk proudly across the stage to receive my diploma, knowing that the struggle and sacrifices I made were all worth it.
There may be moments when you want to give up and quit, but it’s the challenging times when we learn the most about ourselves and our abilities. If you are struggling, get help. Keep a positive attitude, set attainable goals for yourself and manage your time wisely. Keep your eye on the prize and do everything you can to stay focused and get that degree. You will be so proud of yourself. It is all worth it.
